URBAN DESIGN COLLABORATION

Tyler Gibbs founded Urban Design Collaboration in 2018, extending nearly four decades of public sector leadership as well as private sector architectural practice.

Tyler’s urban design experience includes serving as Urban Design Director, Planning Services Manager and Plan Implementation Manager for the City of Denver, Planning Director for the City of Steamboat Springs and providing review services for the San Diego Centre City Development Corporation.

Tyler has authored and overseen urban design standards and guidelines for more than a dozen urban districts and collaborated in the creation of new zoning for the City of Denver and the City of Steamboat Springs. In addition, Tyler chaired design advisory committees during the development of Mile High Stadium, the Colorado Convention Center and Convention Center Hotel.

Tyler is a member of the Urban Land Institute, serving on the Colorado Council Executive Committee and past chair of the Resort, Entertainment and Leisure Council. Tyler is a Colorado licensed architect and former board member of the Denver Chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

URBAN DESIGN COLLABORATION…

brings extensive public and private sector perspective to engage project stakeholders

…in identifying and building on shared values for success in urban design, planning, design standards, zoning, entitlements, code enforcement and historic preservation.

Urban Design Collaboration embraces the continuous evolution of all great communities and believes that truly great places come to life when the benefits to all stakeholders are realized.

Tyler’s deep knowledge of public process complements private development teams in delivering successful projects through early positive engagement with community objectives. Public planning, development code and review programs benefit from Tyler’s understanding of the private sector design process and development team objectives to meet community goals through clarity of intent and predictable processes as well as flexibility in implementation.
